Championing Shoal Creek **with Shoal Creek Conservancy Executive Director Ivey Kaiser.
Shoal Creek Conservancy champions Shoal Creek and the Shoal Creek Trail to create a healthy and vibrant community. SCC Executive Director Ivey Kaiser will share details of upcoming projects & events, as well as how SCC programs are guided by two community-created action plans. These plans include the Shoal Creek Trail Plan and the Shoal Creek Watershed Action Plan, which detail how to create increased trail accessibility, safety and connectivity in Austin, and greater biodiversity, healthier riparian habitats and fishable, swimmable waters in Shoal Creek.

Ivey Kaiser grew up in Columbia, South Carolina where she attended the University of South Carolina and began her love of working with environmental advocacy and outdoor recreation. Since moving to Austin in 2011, she has worked with Keep Austin Beautiful and REI, managing community programs, events and corporate grant giving. Ivey joined Shoal Creek Conservancy as Executive Director in 2019. In her spare time, Ivey enjoys exploring local trails and rivers and spending time with her large herd of animals, husband and newborn daughter.
CASA CHAPALA is a family owned restaurant at the northeast corner of Burnet Road and 183, one exit east of Mopac, below a large Planned Parenthood sign. We have been offered at no charge a very nice, private room with private entrance and restrooms within the space. The room features projection equipment and will Zoom our meeting. Ample parking. We encourage you to come early to order drinks and food in order to repay our hosts for their kindness.
Happy Hour is 3 to 7, so come as early as 6:00 pm to order dinner and drinks. Yes, they have margaritas! There is a large outdoor patio for anyone who wishes to eat outdoors before the meeting begins.
