This free workshop will focus on grounding in practices of community care, reflecting on this past year’s winter storm, preparing for future climate disasters through the lens of the lessons we can learn from the plant and animal world around us, and imagining new futures together.
During the workshop we will bring in aspects of nature connection, work through guided prompts, and include time to co-create imaginative visions of our future(s). The workshop will be informed by work from Octavia Butler, Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Mariame Kaba, and others. The workshop is open to all levels of writing experience, and youth (13-24) are especially welcome to attend.
