Rally to Support Austin Climate Equity Plan

The Austin Climate Equity Plan is coming up for a vote at City Council on September 30. The plan includes a new goal of reducing local climate pollution to net-zero by 2040, with a strong emphasis on cutting emissions by 2030. Equity – as well as emissions reductions – is at the core of this plan. The goals and strategies in the plan are designed to help counter racist and inequitable policies that have left communities of color in Austin often with fewer resources and worse environmental burdens.

The plan was created by a diverse group of community members, with guidance from the Office of Sustainability and the Equity Office. Join us to celebrate this exciting new plan and build momentum for implementing it without delay. The climate crisis is upon us and we can’t afford to wait for action.
