National Thrift Store Day (August 17) is an annual holiday that celebrates shopping secondhand. The Circular Economy Program is hosting an informational and collaborative workshop for local reuse and thrift stores and interested entrepreneurs led by Terry McDonald, Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County, OR and Cascade Alliance. This workshop will provide insights on how to grow a resale business by adding new business models.
About the speaker
Terry McDonald is the Executive Director of St. Vincent de Paul Society of Eugene County, a non-profit social services agency. In one year’s time, St. Vincent de Paul kept over 44.1 million pounds of waste out of the landfill. Terry has over 35 years of experience in the thrift industry, including providing consulting services to other nonprofit thrift retail operations.
