Looking at the City of Austin’s net zero carbon goals, there is an opportunity for buildings to better integrate and communicate with the electric grid. From storage to demand response and smart inverters, this seminar will provide an overview of the current research and opportunities for grid friendly building practices. Speakers will cover lessons learned from Austin Energy’s SHINE’s grant work and explore the GridOptimal Buildings Initiative that will develop metrics by which building features and operating characteristics that support more effective grid operation can be measured and quantified.
