Austin voters approved a $720 million mobility bond in November… now what?
You can keep track of all the projects being funded through the bond with the city’s new online Project Explorer tool. Project Explorer allows you to search projects by location, project type, project phase, and City Council district. A project details page also provides information about the project budget, funding, and a public contact.
Using this tool, you can figure out which mobility improvements are coming to your neighborhood and when construction is expected to begin. It’s a great way to keep track of things and to make sure that your tax dollars are actually being put to good use. You can check it out here>>
As a reminder, the $720 million mobility bond includes:
- $101 million for Regional Mobility Projects – improvements to intersections on Loop 360, Anderson Mill Road, Spicewood Springs Road
- $482 million for Corridor Improvement Projects (Smart Corridors) – on North Lamar Boulevard, South Lamar Boulevard, Burnet Road, Airport Boulevard, East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, East Riverside Drive, Guadalupe Street
- $137 million for Local Mobility Projects – bike lanes, sidewalks, safe routes to school
