From the Austin Parks Foundation –
Have a park or trail in your neighborhood that could use a little TLC? Now’s the time to do something about it. Project registration is open for the Austin Park Foundation’s It’s My Park Day on March 4th. Held twice a year, It’s My Park Day is a massive, city-wide volunteer event that works to improve parks and greenbelts throughout Austin.
In 2015, It’s My Park Day included nearly 100 projects city-wide, 3,000 volunteers, and 10,000 hours of volunteer labor. That’s equivalent to five park maintenance employees working full-time for a whole year!
If you’d like to see volunteers working in your neighborhood on It’s My Park Day, now is the time to become a project leader. Common projects include tree mulching, habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and park cleanups. By signing up to become a project leader, you can ensure that your local park looks better than ever in 2017! More info>>
