14 Feb Did you know Austin Energy Green Building Program coined the term “Green Building?”

Mary McLeod, Coordinator, Single-Family Program has been with Austin Energy Green Building Program since its inception. The program is the first comprehensive sustainable building program in the United States and coined the term "green building."   In the beginning the program was primarily a residential program but now includes commercial and multifamily buildings. 

Maureen Scanlon, Commercial Green Building Engineer coordinates the Austin Energy Green Building Commercial Program. She assists project teams in achieving both Austin Energy Commercial Green Building ratings and USGBC LEED certifications for their projects.
