There’s a new trail in town! The long-awaited Northern Walnut Creek Trail opened in North Austin last week. The 3.2 mile-long concrete trail begins at the Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park and runs under MoPac near Balcones District Park. Major access points can be found in Gracywoods Park, Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park, and on Lincolnshire Drive.

Eventually, the trail will connect all the way to the pool at Balcones Park. It’s all part of a larger plan to build out the city’s urban trail network, designed to connect all parts of the city with easily accessible pedestrian and bike trails. More info>>
