Ride to Rally the Vote FOR Proposition 1

Show your support for Proposition 1 by joining the League of Bicycling Voters and the Austin Flyers Women’s Club on October 28th, for the Ride to Rally the Vote FOR Proposition 1.

Proposition 1, the City of Austin Mobility Bond Election, will provide $44 million for bicycle and pedestrian projects, including funding for significant components of the 2009 Austin Bike Plan. Prop. 1 has been endorsed by local bicycling organizations, including LOBV as well as a variety of other organizations, such as Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, Sierra Club, Austin Chronicle, and Austin American-Statesman. • Ride to Rally: From City Hall, on Cesar Chavez St. between Guadalupe & Lavaca, rides will depart every half-hour (5:00, 5:30, 6:00, and 6:30pm) to the early voting site at HEB at South Congress & Oltorf. (Note that there is free car parking at City Hall on this day, since it is a City Council meeting day.)

Be sure to bring an ID with you (e.g. driver’s license, passport) or your voter card so that you can vote. Also make sure your bike has lights — it gets dark earlier.

Following the Prop. 1 Rides: Immediately following the last Central Austin ride, we will be riding to the LOBV Annual Membership Meeting & Party 7-11pm at E. 5th & Waller Sts., southwest corner — the same building that houses HOPE Farmers Market.
