Primary elections are being held on Tuesday, March 1st here in Texas. On a local level, one of the more hotly contested races is for Texas House District 49 (HD 49). Last week, the Austin EcoNetwork’s radio partner, Shades of Green, hosted a show featuring some of the candidates running in the Democratic race.

Other candidates who are running in the Democratic race for the HD 49 seat (but who were not able to make it to the show) include Aspen Dunaway, Matthew Shrum, and Blake Rocap. There are no Republicans running for the seat.
