“Green” School – Project Leadership

Uplift Austin is seeking volunteers to oversee Green School Projects during a large-scale community volunteer day at a local charter school for underserved students. This volunteer activity includes one morning (2 hour) training on Saturday, May 15; 10:00am-Noon

Skills Needed: Skills/experience with landscaping, planting, construction, or painting would be very helpful!

Activities: Lead volunteers from the business community who are pitching in to help finish up school-based landscaping projects. Projects include completing xeriscaping project (planting, laying crushed granite, edging, mulching, etc.); completing construction of garden (laying pavers, building tool shed); constructing picnic tables and benches; painting; and completing this semester’s student projects (rainwater harvesting systems and a rain garden)
