[Film Screening] Monday, December 7th at 8pm Travel+SocialGood Austin is hosting a screening of the documentary, “Chasing Ice,” at Urban Co-Lab. The film chronicles the personal quest by environmental photographer James Balog to capture the effects of climate change. Following the screening Jayant Kairam, with the Environmental Defense Fund, will engage attendees in a conversation on building awareness and dealing with the effects of climate change in their own lives and businesses. [Environmental Justice Talk] Wednesday, December 9th from 7pm to 8:45pm the City of Austin’s Imagine Austin Speaker Seriescontinues with a talk from Dr. Antwi Akom, co-founder of the Institute for Sustainable Economic, Educational, and Environmental Design (I-SEEED), which focuses on building sustainable cities and schools. His talk is entitled, “Eco-Apartheid and Giving Voice to the Voiceless,” and will focus on ways to increase community participation in economically disadvantaged communities. More info>>
