Adopt-A-Park Summit

Join us for the 2015 Adopt-A-Park Summit, hosted by Austin Parks Foundation and Austin Parks and Recreation Department.

This June, Adopt-A-Park groups from across the city will have the opportunity to come together to meet each other, share best practices, and attend educational workshops on how to work most effectively to improve and maintain our parks!

Workshop topics include: 

• Fundraising for Your Park 101: presented by Austin Parks Foundation
• Organizing Successful Community Park Improvement Projects: presented by Austin Parks & Recreation Department
• Tree Care and Maintenance: presented by Austin Parks & Recreation Department’s Urban Forestry Program
• Natural Areas Restoration: The Do’s and Don’ts of Vegetation Management presented by Watershed Protection Department
• Introduction to ACL Music Festival Grants: presented by Austin Parks Foundation
• Restoration Communication Tools:  Beauty, benefits and threats are in the eye of the beholder presented by Watershed Protection Department
• Coordinating Volunteer Workdays in Your Park: presented by Austin Parks Foundation and Austin Parks & Recreation Department
• City of Austin Neighborhood Partnering Program: Empowering Neighborhoods, Building Community: presented by City of Austin Public Works Department

Multiple people from your neighborhood are welcome to attend, as multiple workshops will be occurring simultaneously. Please be sure everyone registers individually.
