[Plant Symposium]Saturday, March 28th from 8am to 3:15pm the Native Plant Society of Texas is hosting its Spring Symposium at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. This year's speakers include AEN founder Brandi Clark Burton, who will be speaking about building an environmental community, and Dr. Ashley Lovell of the Texas Land Conservancy, who will be giving a talk about saving nature. [Garden Festival] Saturday, March 28th and Sunday March 29th from 10am to 5pm is the annual Zilker Garden Festival at the Zilker Botanical Garden. For over 50 years, this festival has been a one-stop garden shopping destination for springtime planting. [Solar Class] Saturday, March 28th from 11am tonoon, TreeHouse is hosting a "Let the People Go Solar" class at its South Austin location. The class will give an overview of all things solar as well as give you an opportunity to ask questions and get one-on-one consulting regarding your own projects. [Earth Hour] Saturday, March 28th from 8:30pm to 9:30pm in.gredients will be celebrating Earth Hour by turning off all the lights in the shop for one hour. There will be candlelit shopping, relaxing classical music, and plenty of energy saving, all in honor of this worldwide event designed to call attention to climate change. More info>>
[Children's Picnic] Sunday, March 29th from 1pm to 5pm Edible Austin is hosting the Children's Picnic and Real Food Fair on the grounds of the French Legation Museum. The free event invites families to pack a picnic, bring a blanket, grow a garden, play games, meet farmers, enjoy cooking demos, and much more. There will also be plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and prepared foods from a variety of local farmers market food vendors for sampling and purchasing. More info>>

[Speaker Series] Wednesday, April 1st at 6:30pm the Imagine Austin Speaker Series continues with,"Creating Vibrant Green Cities: Lessons from Seoul, South Korea and San Marcos, Texas." Panelists will discuss lessons learned from two great green infrastructure projects located an ocean away – one in Texas and one in Korea.
