Whether you are just getting started in the kitchen or giving your diet a reboot, join us and learn how to make quick, seasonal and affordable healthy meals. In this class, you will learn and practice common knife cuts and learn essential techniques for everyday cooking. We will review meal-planning and prepping strategies, share basic recipes, and recommend cookware and kitchen equipment (that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!). You will leave feeling confident and excited about regularly cooking at home.

The Kitchen Fundamentals series teaches essential skills for cooking whole foods with a focus on locally-produced and economical ingredients. If you’re new to cooking or are looking to increase your knowledge and confidence, then this is the series for you! The 4-part series is made of stand-alone classes, but when bought as a package there is a discount of $5 per class. Click here to register for the full series today!

You will take home the produce you work with in class, along with recipes for using it. Please bring several large reusable containers or zip-top bags to bring home chopped veggies.

We will provide knives for you to use, but feel free to bring your own knives to use in class.

Sections of this class will be active, so please dress appropriately for the kitchen (closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothes, hair tie for long hair). We will sample what we cook, but it will not be a complete meal.
