[Transportation] City Council is hosting a public hearing tonight at 7pmon council member Chris Riley's proposal to legalize Uber, Lyft, and other transportation networking companies. Last week Riley announced his plans to legalize Uber and Lyft in the short-term while a more permanent solution comes out of a council-approved stakeholder process. And since City Hall is still be renovated, the hearing will be held at the Travis County Commissioners Court at 700 Lavaca St.

A talk will be given by Joep Meijer, co-founder of Climate Buddies, who will explain the many ways climate change is already affecting Texas and explore what Austin is doing to turn the tide.
