A permablitz is a a community organized and supported event to spread permaculture design, practice, and implementation through out the Central Texas Area.
We will be creating a system to support a forest garden that mimics the patterns of nature’s systems while showing you how to do it yourself.
Our goal is to increase awareness of food production and sustainability throughout the community and to spread these permaculture cultivation practices so that they may be practiced on a larger scale.
This season some of our main objectives are at these permablitzes are to install as many gardens as possible on working organic farms, to demonstrate how to use heavy equipment to do the earthworks, and to realize / create a beautiful design for as many people as possible to see and experience.
This permablitz is for the New Farm Institute (NFI) and is funded by proceeds from the 2014 Funky Chicken Coop Tour.
Green Gate Farm’s long-term goal is to host NFI camps and classes that serve the growing interest in sustainable and organic practices. This permablitz is a first step to reaching that goal! NFI is the 501c3 created by Green Gate to fund its educational activities. FCCT is an event of the 501c3 non-profit Urban Poultry Association of Texas, Inc.
Breakfast and lunch provided both days! To RSVP please email Taelor Monroe at monroe DOT taelor AT gmail DOT com
