Please join Shades of Green for a rebroadcast of one of our most interesting discussions all year: Green Burials.
We discussed how you can be green even after your soul leaves this earth. In the studio with us was environmental journalist Ann Hoffner who is working on her second environmental book. It is a detailed study of green burials. She shared with us how you can reduce the carbon footprint of your funeral and burial. Several examples of green burial sites are in her home state of New Jersey and right here in Central Texas. Her first book called “Lettuce in a Box: the PET Revolution“ can be downloaded from Amazon. We also interviewed Ellen Macdonald the Manager and owner of Eloise Woods Community Natural Burial Park near Austin. Her natural burial preserve is an open space with trees, grasses, and wildflowers, which brings birds and other wildlife to the area. We learned how it can be a meaningful, green, and peaceful experience to be buried in Eloise Woods.
