Grow Local gardening classes are all about learning solid gardening skills alongside local gardening experts. We want to build community, have fun, witness the magic in nature, make growing your own food easy, and be part of something bigger – your food system! Our “Get Growing” track offers gardeners education and hands-on experiences in essential food gardening topics such as soil health and garden pests. The “Deep Roots” series digs deeper and focuses on topics such as raised bed construction and fruit tree care. SFC’s Grow Local team is dedicated to growing successful food gardeners, sustainable places to grow food, and supportive gardening communities. This means that all proceeds from the Teaching Garden classes support free gardening education and resources for families in need. ABOUT GET GROWING: PLAN YOUR FALL GARDEN Every gardener should know which plants and varieties grow well in Central Texas. Get a hands-on experience in planning out your garden for the fall season, and learning about companion plants, garden tracking, and harvest calendars. We will also touch on organic fertilizers and planting flowers to attract pollinators. Course fee is $12. Registration is capped at 25. Please register to attend this course below.
