Growin’ Together and the Amala Foundation invite kids ages 7-12 to come learn four different specialized projects from community artisans. Each participant will get to make and take home a sample of the project along with full instructions on how to make it at home. Kids can then sell their projects at our Kid Artisan Market on April 26th at the Sunset Vally Farmer’s Market. All Kid Artisan Day participants will get a free booth!

LEARN TO MAKE:
Natural Lip Balms
Using just a few simple ingredients, you can create your own personal lip balm to use, sell or give away! Each participant will get to take home a lip balm to keep and a lip balm to share! Taught by Valkyrie Lang, who has been creating natural bodycare products since 1995. www.anaturahi.com
Jewelry
Learn a variety of ways to make rings, earrings, bracelets and more using wire, beads, & found objects! Each participant will get to make a piece of jewelry and take it home. Taught by long-time crafter Megan Martin who magically makes something out of nothing every day.
Homemade Soap
Who doesn’t need soap!? Learn an age-old traditional soap-making method that can simply produce a beautiful & practical product to use, sell and share! Participants will make three different kinds of soap to take home and learn everything they need to create their own! Taught by DIY craftsman Joe Carr, who doesn’t believe there is anything we can’t do ourselves.
Duct-Tape Accessories
Learn all the fundamentals of using duct tape to make a variety of projects like wallets, change pouches, purses and more! Taught by Lilly Gordy of the Duct Tape sisters, this 10-year-old has been making and selling duct tape art for over a year.
Adults, you can come to!
