04 Feb Stop the Keystone XL Pipleine Rally in Austin Feb.3
Over 50 Austinites braved the cold to protest against the Keystone XL Pipeline on Tuesday night. They rallied in front of the Jake Pickle Federal Building to call attention to the pipeline and demand that President Obama reject this project a major threat to the environment. In fact, this toxic diluted bitumen is shown by State Department reports to be 17% more green house gas intensive than regular oil.
It is a border security issue – stop it at the Canadian Border. If it cannot make it to market, it will have much less chance of being mined in Canada. The XL Pipeline across Americas heartland is the most ready route.
