The vision of East Feast 2022 – a vision of a flourishing East Side, where diverse neighbors feast together and celebrate abundant local food and community along the shores of Lady Bird Lake. The first food forest to be created by the people for the people in a public park, as part of the Holly Shores/Edward Rendon Sr/Chicano park plan.
Accomplishments since November 2012:
If you are interested in continuing to be a part of this East Feast momentum, we hope you will join us for the East Feast Food Forest Design Workshop, Sunday, August 11, from 2pm to 6:30 pm. The workshop will explore the future of the Festival Beach Food Forest, including an overview of food forests, sharing of initial concept plans developed by the tireless East Feast design team, and opportunities for membership in communal spaces at the Festival Beach Community Garden.
Here are some opportunities to contribute to its success:
What's a food forest? What are the possibilities for a food forest at Festival Beach? East Feast leaders have been hard at work creating potential designs for a Festival Beach Food Forest, just south of the Community Garden. It's time to share these ideas, get more from neighbors , and start creating together!
