Free Training For Businesses Effected By Bag Ordinance

City of Austin to Host Single-Use Carryout Bag Ordinance Business Training on Feb. 27

Do you have questions about the new bag ordinance?

Last year, the Austin City Council unanimously approved the Single-Use Carryout Bag Ordinance, which will take effect on March 1, 2013. The ordinance regulates the types of bags distributed by businesses in Austin and encourages a shift to reusable bags.

On Wednesday, Feb. 27, the City of Austin will host a free training session for businesses seeking more information about the Single-Use Carryout Bag Ordinance. The ordinance applies to businesses that provide carryout bags to their customers, including retail stores, restaurants, grocery stores, and convenience stores.
