DESCRIPTION:From Austin Nature In The City –\nEnjoy a day of hands-on activities that will help you and your students identify correlations between the urban forest and local environmental issues such as climate\, hydrology\, fire\, urban heat island\, and wildlife. In addition\, we’ll help you identify how Project Learning Tree meets the need for TEKS correlated environmental education and will introduce you to local resources that are available to assist with student led investigations or service learning opportunities. Participants receive 6 hours of SBEC CPEs and PLT’s PreK-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide containing 96 interdisciplinary\, TEKS-correlated activities. This workshop is appropriate for PreK-12 classroom educators as well as nonformal educators. \nYou can register here.
