We meet on the 3rd Monday of each month at the Waller Creek Pub House for socializing\, discussion and brainstorming. \n6:30-7pm – Happy hour and socializing \n7pm – Announcements and program begins \nIn honor of Earth Day\, we have a very special panel for our meeting this month! \nOne of the Sierra Club’s top national priorities is to build a movement for climate justice that includes all people who live in the United States. This involves a focus on environmental justice\, supporting and learning from communities that have often been left behind by mainstream environmental organizations. Earth Day is a perfect time for us to explore what it means to be 21st-century environmentalists building an inclusive movement. \nThe panel will feature staff and volunteer leaders from Sierra Club’s hard-hitting Beyond Coal campaign\, the Lone Star Chapter\, and the national Sierra Club – including Sierra Club organizer Dave Cortez\, who was named “Best Environmental Activist in Austin” by the Austin Chronicle.
