DESCRIPTION:From the Austin Zero Waste Alliance –\nJoin the Austin Zero Waste Alliance as we tour one of Central Texas’ most important waste and recycling facilities\, the Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) facility in Creedmoor. \nTDS is home to one of the largest landfills in the area\, and one of the most responsibly run landfills anywhere in the country. They also process recycling for tens of thousands of Austin-area homes and businesses and have the largest commercial composting facility in the area. Oh\, and they also host an exotic game preserve! \nThis is a unique and important opportunity to see how recycling really works\, how commercial composting is done\, what biosolids compost really looks like\, where your trash goes\, and the opportunities and challenges facing Zero Waste. \nTour is going to start at 10 AM sharp\, so please be on time.
