SUMMARY:2026 Bond Community Listening Session
DESCRIPTION:The Bond Election Advisory Task Force (BEATF) exists to identify and prioritize projects that address Austin’s infrastructure needs. These listening sessions are your opportunity to: \n\nLearn who they are and their call to action\nUnderstand the financial policies and limitations guiding their decisions\nHelp prioritize which projects are selected for their final bond recommendations\nWhen you speak up\, you help build a bond package that truly reflects community needs.\n\nAt each session\, you’ll: \n\nHear a brief overview of the BEATF’s role and process\nLearn what input they need from you to help make decisions about Bond recommendations to the City Council and the Mayor\nShare your top community priorities\nTell us which projects you’d cut or refine\nWe’ll also outline how your feedback is incorporated into the bond package.\n\n  \nPS -What is a General Obligation (GO) Bond? \nAustin\, as well as other cities\, use General Obligation (GO) Bonds to fund long-term investments in public infrastructure. GO Bonds allow cities to borrow money to pay for major community projects\, such as streets\, libraries\, or open spaces. These bonds are repaid using property taxes.

DESCRIPTION:The City of Austin’s Capital Delivery Services is excited to partner with the Economic Development Department’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) program to bring in Texas artist\, Reginald Adams\, for his second community engagement workshop. \nThe second event in Reginald’s workshop series will give the public an opportunity to see a sneak peek of Reginald’s vision for his new mosaic mural\, “Absolute Equality\,” being constructed in the forthcoming underpass near South Pleasant Valley Road.
