SUMMARY:Energy Reliability Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This April 2026\, Austin Energy is hosting a series of Energy Reliability Workshops across Austin\, and we invite you and members of your community to participate. These workshops will provide an overview of how Austin Energy is implementing the 2035 Plan\, discuss locations of potential energy resource and generation options across Austin\, and invite residents to share what matters most you and your community.  \nThe Austin City Council unanimously approved Austin Energy’s Resource\, Generation and Climate Protection Plan to 2035\, which is a strategic pathway to meet Austin’s rising energy needs. SUMMARY:Community Conversations: Project Connect Anti-Displacement
DESCRIPTION:The City of Austin needs your support to help prevent displacement. Community feedback will help guide funding priorities for the next three years.\n \nIn 2020\, Austin voters approved Project Connect. Our local public transit system will expand to connect more parts of our city than ever before. Investments of this size can bring great benefits. They can also potentially impact displacement as property values in nearby neighborhoods rise. To address this\, voters also approved $300 million dedicated to anti-displacement.\n \nAs our city continues to grow and develop\, we must do a better job to keep communities in place\, while providing much-needed infrastructural improvements and transit services. To do this we must center the ideas of our residents to address displacement.\n \n$75 million will be invested over the next three years. The Project Connect Community Advisory Committee (CAC) has identified 5 goals for these three years of anti-displacement funding. The goals build on the work of the Project Connect Racial Equity Catalysts and the Nothing About Us Without Us report.\n \nJoin the Community Advisory Committee for a conversation to share your ideas about how $75 million should be invested toward anti-displacement efforts.

SUMMARY:Resilience Hub Network Focus Area 5 (78741) Workshop
DESCRIPTION:When disaster strikes\, people across Austin need trusted community spaces to meet basic needs. When paired with ongoing emergency planning\, disaster response\, and sheltering plans\, a Resilience Hub Network can help provide relief during extreme weather events and other emergencies. At the same time\, the network can build community resilience day-to-day by leveraging existing partnerships and providing services that strengthen and empower individuals to thrive.\n  \nThe City of Austin is working with the Austin Independent School District\, Travis County\, and other community partners to build this network. The Resilience Hub Network Project aims to pilot six hubs in the Eastern Crescent during 2022. Future plans include building a larger network of hubs to serve the greater community. Community Powered Workshop is facilitating the engagement process for the six pilot hubs.\n  \nResilience Hubs are trusted spaces that meet community needs before\, during\, and after extreme weather events and build community resilience day-to-day. Your input will help identify places that can support Resilience Hubs and ensure that these spaces are designed and programmed to meet community needs.\n  \nAttend a workshop virtually or in person in your Focus Area to learn more\, share your ideas and connect with neighbors to build the Resilience Hub Network.\n  \nFood\, ages 5+ childcare\, interpretation and transportation will be provided. \nFocus Area 1 (78758): Tuesday\, 8/30 at 6:00-8:00pm – North Austin YMCA Community Room \nFocus Area 2 (78753): Thursday\, 9/1 at 6:15-8:15pm – Gus Garcia Recreation Center Senior Room \nFocus Area 3 (78752): Tuesday\, 9/20 at 6:00-8:00pm – TBD \nFocus Area 4 (78724): Thursday\, 9/8 at 6:15-8:15pm – Turner-Roberts Recreation Center \nFocus Area 5 (78741): Tuesday\, 9/13 at 6:00-8:00pm – Montopolis Recreation Center Multipurpose Room \nFocus Area 6 (78744): Thursday\, 9/15 at 6:00-8:00pm | Dove Springs Recreation Center \nWorkshops will be co-facilitated by the Resilience Hub Network Community Task Force members\, who are residents leaders in your neighborhood!\n  \nVisit the website for workshop schedule updates: \nhttps://community-powered-workshop.squarespace.com/resilience-hub-network\n  \nShare your thoughts through this survey and interactive map: https://cpworkshop.mysocialpinpoint.com/resilience-hub-network#/\n  \nDownload the Resilience Hub Network Conversation Toolkit or pick one up at the workshop:  \nhttps://static1.squarespace.com/static/5d5304c12cb2ef000173ad34/t/62ffe11742822c577f37c652/1660936471846/RHN_Conversation_Toolkit.pdf
