SUMMARY:Free Class: Growing Citrus in Central Texas
DESCRIPTION:From the Natural Gardener –\nTuesday\, May 21st at 10am –   “Growing Citrus in Central Texas” with Linda Wall.   \nGrapefruits\, Kumquats\, Mandarins\, Oranges\, Lemons and Limes OH MY!  Cultures around the world have used many types of citrus in a wide variety of ways from food to medicine to insect repellant.  The fruit is unlike anything else and the flowers have an amazingly strong-sweet scent.  Citrus grow quickly and do very well in our heat! \nCentral Texas is also cold enough in the winter that almost all citrus will need to be protected.  But luckily there are many varieties that can be grown effectively in pots which can be more easily moved and protected. There are even a few varieties that can be grown in the ground. You can be successful growing citrus too!

SUMMARY:Free Class: Creating an English Style Cottage Garden in Texas
DESCRIPTION:From the Natural Gardener –\nSaturday\, May 11th at 10 am – We are very excited to offer Heather Kendall\, a Natural Gardener superstar offering “Creating an English Style Cottage Garden in Texas”.   \nHave you ever wanted an English style cottage garden but not sure where to start?  She will review tips\, techniques and drought tolerant plant selection for an English garden with a Texas touch. \nHeather once practiced environmental law for a firm in London\, she was inspired to leave the office and move into gardening when she started living in a 17thcentury cottage\, where the gardens were a blank slate.  She then trained as a gardener for a large country house estate (a bit like Downton Abbey!).  She has been in Texas for 5 years where she now works at the Natural Gardener as well as running a Garden Consultant and Landscape Design business.
