SUMMARY:Circle Acres Tour with STAR Central Texas
DESCRIPTION:From the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) –\nJoin the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling Central Texas group for a tour of Ecology Action’s Circle Acres. Circle Acres is located on roughly 9.7 acres in the Montopolis neighborhood of southeast Austin. As a former landfill and brownfield\, the site has suffered through a pattern of destructive uses but nonetheless bears a striking range of forest wetland\, and grassland environments within an overwhelmingly urban context. \nWe will take a tour of Circle Acres and learn about Ecology Action (9:00 am-10:30 pm) followed by a  membership meeting (10:30 am-12:00 pm) at Sawyer’s & Co at 4827 E Cesar Chavez. During the tour we will learn about the history of the site and transforming an old landfill\, the history of Ecology Action\, the organization’s new focus areas in the post-drop-off-center world\, and what we can expect in the future at Circle Acres. \nVisitors can park on Kemp and should not attempt to drive on to the site. There’s a big concrete EA next to the driveway\, walk down the hill and keep left. There will be someone waiting for you at the entrance and a sign.
