DESCRIPTION:From Partners for Education\, Agriculture\, and Sustainability (PEAS) and Slow Food Austin –\nSlow Food Austin and PEAS – Partners for Education\, Agriculture\, and Sustainability are planning a fun Seedling Social garden party for adults and kids alike. Come out for food\, fun\, music\, kids’ activities\, gardening information\, and learn all about Ark of Taste plants. We’ll have seedlings for you to take home and grow in your own garden\, raffle prizes\, a bar for grown-ups\, and juices for kids. \nFunds raised at this event will benefit both Slow Food Austin and PEAS. Ark of Taste seedlings are also being grown for use in school garden programs operated by PEAS. The Slow Food Ark of Taste is a living catalog of culturally significant foods in danger of extinction. By promoting growing and eating these foods\, we keep them in production and on our plates. \nSpecial thanks to Tito’s Handmade Vodka for operating the bar at our Seedling Social. \nThank you to jugo austin for juices\, High Dive for sparkling water\, and The Infinite Monkey Theorem for wines. \n$5 admission for adults\, kids’ admission is FREE (Each advance-purchase ticket includes 5 raffle tickets for gift baskets. Additional raffle tickets will be available at the event for $1 each or 12 tickets for $10.)

DESCRIPTION:From the Sustainable Food Center and Slow Food Austin –\nJoin us for a delicious (and nutritious) FREE LUNCH at World Disco Soup Day 2017 – the largest food waste awareness event on the planet – in Austin on April 29\, 2017! \nWith the help of the Sustainable Food Center\, Slow Food Austin is hosting the first ever Disco Soup in Texas on April 29th from 10:30am – 1pm at theSFC Farmers’ Market Downtown (Republic Square Park\, 422 Guadalupe St\, Austin\, TX 78701). \nStarted by the Slow Food Youth Network\, Disco Soup is an event where perfectly edible food on its way to the landfill is rescued\, chopped up\, and transformed into free meals to hand out to the public. Join us for great food\, farmers’ market shopping\, and live music by Batty jr. and a currated funky playlist by musician and producer Marshall Lowry!
