DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Rites of Warming –\nAn event inspired by the future of our planet\, traditional jazz standards and Russian composer Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring\, Rites of Warming is an evening (October 11 and 12) filled with classical music\, climate-inspired jazzy lyrics\, Austin’s top singers and musicians\, and a talk-back by climate change expert\, Joshua K. Willis. \nRites of Warming is composed and directed by Ammon Taylor and performed by some of Austin’s most talented and brightest musicians and singers including: Angela Irving\, Gary James\, Phillip Michael Bernard\, Masumi Jones\, Laura Mercado-Wright\, Joseph Quintana\, and Veronica Williams. \nRites of Warming is a song cycle that will make you laugh\, make you cry\, and most importantly\, question our future. After the performance\, Joshua K.
