SUMMARY:ATX Climate Week: Recess For Revolution
DESCRIPTION:RSVP HERE \nPS – Note the corrected location. This event will be held at Austin Clay Arts (not DAWA HQ).  \nRecess for Revolution is a community resource hub dedicated to radical acts of resistance such as practicing mutual aid\, skill-sharing\, and civic engagement. Recess is facilitated by a diverse coalition of community organizers who are devoted to learning from and supporting local advocates\, value-aligned organizations\, and those directly impacted by oppressive systems. \nAs climate disasters intensify and political instability deepens\, protecting our communities requires us to collectively take direct action. Through in-person gatherings\, teach-ins\, and online resources\, our goal is to educate and empower allies within our community to take part in the transformative work that is building a resilient and liberated future for us all. \n“Refuse to abandon vulnerable people. Build a rebellious culture of care.”  – Kelley Hayes\, \n\n\n4:00 – 6:00 PM Community Social (outdoor) \n\n\n6:00 – 7:00 PM Teach-In: Supporting + Showing Solidarity with the Unhoused Community (indoor\, mask required) \n\n\n7:00 – 7:30 PM Social Wrap Up \n\n\nSCHEDULE WITH ALL PARTICIPATING ORGS TO BE POSTED 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO RECESS. \n  \n\nAbout Climate Week ATX  \nAustin\, Texas\, is cranking up the heat (in a good way) with its first-ever Climate Week! This isn’t just another conference—it’s a citywide celebration of sustainability\, innovation\, and action. Picture rooftop parties\, hands-on workshops\, inspiring talks from eco-warriors\, and maybe even susty bus tour. April 26th – May 4th \nATX Climate Week is a celebration that stems from Joon Community\, an environmental justice & public transit-focused WOC-founded 501(c)3 non-profit that hosts community-engaged & environment justice-friendly events nationwide.
