DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Data For Good ATX –\nData for Good ATX is a local initiative that bridges skilled volunteers with local community leaders to promote data-informed solutions for the people of Austin. We actively work to de-silo business\, nonprofits\, government and academia in order to foster radical transparency and collaboration around data\, solutions\, and talent. \nThanks for Galvanize for being a co-sponsor of the event! We are grateful for your partnership and for supporting our mission of doing good with data! \nYou can RSVP here. \nIs this event for me? \nDo you have a specialization or skill that you wish you could use to create a positive impact in Austin’s local community? Do you want to meet other skilled volunteers and community leaders that care about issues affecting our city and that are actively working to address them? If so\, Data for Good Day is for you! \nCan you help? \nSkilled volunteers include data scientists\, designers\, writers\, policy and advocacy experts\, artists\, storytellers\, industry experts\, thought leaders and more. We want to know what your skills are\, what you care about and how you want to help. Everyone has something to contribute! \nDo you need help? \nDo you serve in a leadership position for a nonprofit? Do you serve or work for the city of Austin? Are you a community builder with a cause area that you are committed to? If so\, we want to know where you need help and why. \nEvent Details \nWe’ll kick off the afternoon with some food drinks and mingling time followed by a panel discussion where we will dig into how leading organizations are using data to tell their story and bring meaningful insights to the public. We’ll then show some projects we are actively working on and some that are actively looking for help. After\, we’ll break out into smaller discussion groups where we can use our collective wisdom and human-centered strategies in order to problem solve and come up with creative solutions. Following the breakouts\, you’ll have an opportunity to share your insights and learn from other data-informed\, thoughtfully designed solutions. We’ll end the night with closing remarks and a special contribution by a local artist. \nThank you for interest and participation in Data for Good ATX. Also\, you can park at Austin Java / City Hall and buy a coffee or treat for 2 hour validation.
