SUMMARY:The Pillars Project: Our History\, Our Trail
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the City of Austin\, Austin Parks Foundation\, and the Mueller Foundation –\nPaying Homage to Our Collective Memory and Future – Ride | Walk | Art | Community | History | Future \nJoin us for a community celebration of the Pillars in our East Austin Community. Ride your bike and/or walk along the EastLink Trail to the Pleasant Valley Bridge underpass at Rosewood Avenue as six artists from the communities along the trail reflect on collected histories and create a community mural that aims to express how the history of communities along the Trail can be the foundation for its future. Participate by adding your history and desires for the future of the Trail. \ntk tunchez\, in collaboration with EastLink presents “La OFRENDA / The offering” – an homage to our collective memory\, what made us\, what makes us and where we’re going. This is a site-specific collective interactive installation\, a gathering of memory and story\, of wisdom\, of loss and of hope. In the fast changing face of Austin and the US\, specifically set on the Eastside of Austin\, Texas- this is a story of survival and of loss\, of sadness and of hope\, of beauty and of ugliness. We set the foundation for this Physical OFRENDA\, with our own herstories & artistic contributions\, and invite the general public to contribute to this ongoing and complex narrative. Bring your stories\, your art\, images and more to create this onsite growing document. \nMore information at EastlinkAustin.com \nThe Pillars Project is commissioned in partnership with the City of Austin\, Austin Parks Foundation and Mueller Foundation. The project is produced and curated by Public City in collaboration with Raasin in The Sun and Frida Friday ATX.

SUMMARY:Tacodeli Downtown Soft Open Benefiting Sustainable Food Center
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Tacodeli and the Sustainable Food Center –\nHi\, friends and familia! \nTwenty years ago\, the dream of Tacodeli was just becoming reality for our Founder\, Roberto Espinosa. When Tacodeli opened on the greenbelt at the Spyglass Trailhead in 1999\, he had no idea that twenty years later\, we’d be opening our 11th location at 3rd and Congress. Over the years\, we’ve been able to support so many hardworking farmers and ranchers\, meet so many like-minded salsa lovers\, and become such great friends with all of you–and we are forever grateful. \nOn Friday\, June 7\, we will be hosting our colleagues at Sustainable Food Center for a pre-opening fundraiser. From 8am-10am we will serve breakfast\, and from 11am-1pm we’ll offer lunch. For a suggested donation of $10 or more\, registered guests will receive 2 complimentary tacos. This will be an important day of ‘soft open’ training for our team\, so we appreciate the honest feedback of trusted folks like you to help us be ready for opening day Monday\, June 10. \nPlease help us support the great works of Sustainable Food Center! Click the registration link here to select your RSVP timeslot. We look forward to seeing you! \nDonations are encouraged and go to support Sustainable Food Center programs to ensure all central Texans have access to healthy and affordable local food. \nAbout Sustainable Food Center \nSFC’s mission is to cultivate a healthy community by strengthening the local food system and increasing access to nutritious\, affordable food. SFCenvisions a food-secure community where all children and adults grow\, share\, and prepare healthy\, local food. \nwww.sustainablefoodcenter.org
