DESCRIPTION:Learn about Asian American history through facilitated activities\, guest speakers\, and/or Asian American media. \n\n\n\nBeing and Belonging is an educational pop up series about Asian American history\, culture\, and arts. If you have ever wondered… \n\nWhat are the experiences of Asian Americans in United States? In Texas?\n\n\nWhat does it mean to be a part of the Asian American diaspora?\n\n\nWhat should the future of Asian America look like?\n\n…then this pop up series is for you! \nBeing and Belonging is open to anyone (ages 18+) who wants to learn in an interactive\, hands-on\, collaborative setting alongside fellow community members. During each session\, we will explore a different topic related to Asian American history through facilitated activities\, guest speakers\, and/or Asian American media. \nParticipants do not need to attend all pop up sessions. They can attend as many or as few as they want. This series is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be provided! \nThe theme of August’s Pop Up will be The Future of Asian America.

DESCRIPTION:The Inaugural Austin Latinx Micro-Book Festival will occur over the course of two days on August 29-30\, 2026\, on the grounds of Red Salmon Arts\, Casa de Resistencia Books in lands shaped by the sacred waters of Tzahopuanpopco (Barton Springs). \nFollowing in the footsteps of the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center (GCAC) in San Antonio\, Texas\, Inter-American Book Fair and Literary Festival\, held ev­ery Fall was fertile terrain to hear and learn about literature centering on the BIPOC experience in the 1990s. \nWe will build on the legacy of the Inter-American Book Fair but through the mandate which informs Red Salmon Arts to celebrate the literacy and literature of Chicanx\, Latinx\, and Indigenous established and up-in-coming writers\, authors\, and storytellers and cultural keepers across the state of Texas\, Somi Se’k\, Turtle Island \nSave the date and stay tuned for more details.
