SUMMARY:DOPE Inaugural Assembly
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, March 5\, AJC invites you to the first DOPE Quarterly Assembly of 2022. During this assembly\, you will have an opportunity to learn more about the DOPE program\, meet our new DOPE leads\, and help us build and shape what the DOPE program will look like in your district. As a collaborative effort\, we will be creating space for every participant to help us identify the needs and challenges within their district\, build relationships with other organizers and volunteers\, and help shape a district organizing vision.\n\n \nWhat is DOPE:\nDOPE – District Organizing: Project Engage is AJC’s new grassroots organizing strategy\, which seeks to build deep community power within every City Council district in Austin.\n\n \nDOPE aims to transform the way we engage and organize with each other and within communities. It’s NOT a campaign. It creates space for the praxis of construction and new ways of being. Through DOPE\, we practice building and transforming with long term vision. It is decolonial. It’s beyond politics. It is inspired by and rooted in Black and Indigenous cultural knowledge and organizing.

SUMMARY:Common Waters: A Demonstration Project for the Butler Trail and Lady Bird Lake
DESCRIPTION:About: \nJoin us for a virtual workshop to learn about the Common Waters project and meet the creatives selected to design the installation. The Workshop will offer an immersion into three themes that are important to public art along the Butler Trail: Cultural Preservation\, Climate Change + Resilience\, and Environmental Activism.
