SUMMARY:Yoga & Sound: Kundalini Vibrational Journey
DESCRIPTION:Join Siri Bahadur and Tracy Firsching of Shuniya Yoga Collective for a deeply nourishing journey into movement\, breath\, sound\, and stillness. This special offering brings together pranayama (breathwork)\, kriya (a set of elevating physical practices)\, meditation\, mantra\, and restorative sound healing to support vitality\, clarity\, and a deeper sense of balance between body\, mind\, and soul. \nThrough Kundalini Yoga\, we’ll awaken and focus the body and mind\, creating space to move beyond mental chatter and into a state of greater presence. \nThe practice will transition into deep relaxation and a restorative sound bath featuring gongs\, crystal bowls\, guitar\, and chimes. As the body becomes still and the mind quiets\, we’ll create space to release tension\, settle the nervous system\, and integrate the practice. At the heart of this experience is Shuniya—the Zero Point: a place of stillness where we can soften the grip of the ego\, reconnect with ourselves\, and cultivate greater clarity and creative focus. \nCome as you are and leave feeling supported\, centered\, and renewed. \nAll classes are free to the community – bring your friends and a mat! \n  \nAbout the Yoga & Sound series:  \n\n\nMove\, breathe\, connect\, and unwind in the natural beauty of Waterloo Park at Yoga & Sound! \nPresented in partnership with Castle Hill Fitness Gym & Spa\, begin each week with a unique approach to movement and meditation\, ranging from energizing vinyasa flows to gentle yoga\, accompanied by restorative sound experiences. \nAll ages & abilities welcome! Whether you’re a beginner or a yoga expert\, modifications and options will be offered throughout each class. Bring a yoga mat\, water\, and a friend or two! \nMoody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park \nSeptember 14 – November 2\, 2026 \nMondays 6:00 – 7:00 PM \nThis program is presented at no cost thanks to the generosity of our community-minded sponsors! \nSee the full schedule and RSVP online at waterloogreenway.org/yoga!

SUMMARY:World Car-Free Day & Screening Of "Real Women Have Curves"
DESCRIPTION:“I love you\, that’s why I make you miserable.” If there is a better line to describe a mother/daughter relationship\, I haven’t heard it. America Ferrera (in her debut!) delivers a stand-out fearless performance of a working class girl\, growing up in LA\, dreaming of a better life\, while committing the ultimate sin: not being a size 2. Now that toxic 2000s diet culture is back full force\, Real Women Have Curves is once again radical. \nGet your ticket here. \nCo-presented with CapMetro in support of World Car-Free day. Take the bus (or train or bike share) any time on Sept 22nd and get a free concession at the theater!

SUMMARY:Kicking the Bucket Listening Club (Yarborough Branch)
DESCRIPTION:For anyone who plans to grow older. \nIn an emergency\, who do you want making medical decisions for you? Your people… or the state? The Kicking the Bucket Listening Club is a free 8-week community gathering that uses storytelling\, humor\, and conversation to explore the questions we’ll all face as we age. Join your neighbors to listen\, weave\, laugh\, and talk about caregiving\, healthcare choices\, independence\, legacy\, planning ahead\, and how we want to live. \nA BOOK CLUB FOR YOUR EARS\nKicking the Bucket is a funny\, heartfelt audio dramedy about two ride-or-die octogenarians determined to exit life on their own terms before their kids can say “nursing home.” Each week\, we’ll listen to a chapter of the ongoing story together. No prep required – and if you drop in mid-series\, we’ll catch you up. \nCRAFT WHILE YOU CONVERSE\nWant to keep your hands busy while you listen? Bring a craft or try your hand at basket weaving with artist Melissa Knight of Batik by Design. Materials provided. Basket weaving is totally optional. \nDIGGING DEEP\nOccupational Therapists and Certified End-of-Life Doulas Michelle McCarty and Melissa Saffron of ReInventing Independence guide a conversation inspired by the story each week. SUMMARY:Nursery and Seed Work at Onion Creek
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning of seed-based restoration at the Onion house on the Water Quality Protection Lands (WQPL). These workdays are part of ongoing restoration efforts to establish diverse and resilient grasslands that improve water quality and quantity in the Barton Springs segment of the Edwards Aquifer. \nTasks vary and\, depending on the workday and season\, may include working with seeds and plants in the plant nursery\, processing collected seed\, or venturing out on the property to harvest or sow seed. We will share details with you before each workday. \nThis workday may involve walking over uneven surfaces and through tall vegetation\, carrying and using tools\, working in exposed full sun areas\, and some bending over. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring drinking water and work gloves\, if you have a pair (we’ll have extras). \nDue to the tasks\, nature of the terrain\, and lack of amenities\, these workdays are generally best suited to older youth and adults. There is no running water on site (unless we are working at the house/nursery)\, and pets and smoking are not permitted. All participants under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. \nLocated in the Driftwood area on FM 967 near FM 1626: bit.ly/onion967. Learn more about the WQPL at austintexas.gov/WQPLstory.
