SUMMARY:Austin Pride Festival & Parade
DESCRIPTION:Pride has always been a protest. This year\, we’re making sure they remember. \nIn 2025\, our voices are more vital than ever. Silence = Death isn’t just history—it’s a warning. Attacks on our rights\, our stories\, and our very existence are escalating. But we’ve been here before. And just like those who came before us\, we won’t be erased. On August 23 at Fiesta Gardens\, we take to the streets—not just to celebrate\, but to demand\, to resist\, and to fight for our future. Because Pride isn’t just a parade. It’s power. It’s protest. It’s survival. \nJoin us. Speak up. Fight back. \nINFO: austinpride.org/pride-2025 \n\n*******Fashionably Late? FESTIVAL TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE SATURDAY AT THE FESTIVAL GATES – $20; $10 ages 7-17; 6 & under free \n************PRIDE FESTIVAL DETAILS: Fiesta Gardens\, 2101 Jesse Segovia St. 11:00am – 6:00pm \n\n*****all acts subject to change without notice***** \nThe Parade is FREE and open to the public . It kicks off at the Texas State Capitol Building and marches down Congress Ave.and ending on the Ann Richards Bridge. \nThe parade begins promptly at 8:00 PM at the Texas State Capitol\, lighting up Congress Avenue with vibrant floats\, marching groups\, and community spirit. The 1.3‑1.5 mile nighttime procession rides south\, culminating on the Congress Avenue Bridge—all illuminated under the night sky. Viewing is free and open to the public. \nFormed in 2010\, The Austin Pride Foundation (APF) is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to managing and organizing Austin’s annual PRIDE celebration and Stonewall Tribute. For more information on this and other Austin PRIDE Week events visit www.austinpride.org. \nFestival Vendor and Parade Registration is now OPEN. To register\, visit: www.austinpride.org \nAustin’s Annual PRIDE celebration is one of the largest opportunities for local non-profit organizations\, social groups\, and causes to gain exposure in the LGBTQ community. Each year\, dozens of these groups use the Festival as a platform to inform and interact with the thousands of attendees. Countless people find new organizations to join\, causes to support\, and opportunities to volunteer at PRIDE events. Furthermore\, we are proud to know that the Austin PRIDE Festival is Central Texas’ single largest HIV testing day of the year enabling several local HIV-related service organizations to reach populations they may otherwise not reach!

SUMMARY:Regenerating Earth Book Tour with Kelsey Timmerman
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of conversation about living regeneratively with bestselling author and journalist Kelsey Timmerman as he presents his new book Regenerating Earth: Farmers Working with Nature to Feed Our Future. \nDoors Open: 6 PM | Event Start: 6:30 PM \nTimmerman comes from a long line of farmers and lives in rural Indiana\, surrounded by monocultures of corn and soybeans. Motivated by the challenges he saw at home—polluted water and air\, and fraying ties between land and community—and a belief that humans can be a force for good\, he set out to find a more hopeful path. \nOver five years and across five continents\, Timmerman met farmers\, Indigenous leaders\, and activists. From Hawaiian kalo patches to the Amazon rainforest and Maasai cattle lands\, Regenerating Earth is a compelling\, deeply personal\, and surprisingly joyful journey that explores what it means to live regeneratively. Not just in how we farm\, but in how we connect to each other and the planet. Through stories full of grit\, heart\, and humor\, Timmerman reminds us that healing the Earth isn’t just possible\, it’s already happening\, and we can all be part of it. \n  \nBooks will be available for purchase and signing. Light refreshments will be served.
