SUMMARY:Open House: Programming on the Butler Trail & Seaholm Waterfront
DESCRIPTION:Feedback is the best way to improve and create community programming that benefits you! We’re starting a new phase of community engagement focused on improving and shaping our public programming on the Butler Trail\, including the future Seaholm Waterfront. We invite you to join The Trail Conservancy for an open house inside the Seaholm Intake Facility on Saturday\, November 7\, from 9- 11 a.m. to share your input on programming around the Butler Trail. \nCan’t make it? \nWe still want your feedback! Please take 4 minutes to reflect on your Butler Trail experience and complete our Community Programming Survey. \nWhat is Seaholm Waterfront?\nThe historic Art Deco Seaholm Intake building—formerly a power plant pump house—is being transformed into a community asset for daily use. In partnership with the Austin Parks and Recreation Department\, The Trail Conservancy will undertake a renovation of this building and its grounds to create Seaholm Waterfront\, a unique space for everyone who lives\, works\, and travels in Austin. With architectural design resuming\, the Phase 2 project will take 3–4 years to complete\, after which The Trail Conservancy will operate the site.

SUMMARY:Onion Creek Orchard Halloween Remembrance Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Halloween 2013 changed the lower Onion Creek area in ways that none of us could have anticipated.  The water came\, and  nothing was ever the same again for those if us effected by the Halloween Floods.  Many who had considered staying and rebuilding changed their minds after the Halloween flood of 2015 (which was actually the day before Halloween.)  Lives were lost\, pets were lost\, wildlife….the neighborhood was lost and Halloween hasn’t been the same since then\, \nOnion Creek Park Neighborhoods Alliance has been working with the City of Austin to follow through with one of the hopes of those who used to be our neighbors.  Our first step in achieving those dreams is to plan an orchard–to build something that is life sustaining that can stand as a living memorial for all that was lost during the Halloween Floods.  We few who remain living in the area will never forget and we hope what we’re working towards honors all that was. \nPlease join us! \nJoin us in a Remembrance Ceremony of all that was lost during the Halloween Floods at 10 am. \nAnd then celebrate the kickoff of the Onion Creek Orchard with: \n\nWildflower stomp\nEchoes of the Watershed nature walk\nPecan hunt\nLemonade stand\nAustin Fire & Police Department vehicles\nCommunity garden information & other useful information via our community partners\nTrick or Treating!!!\n\nCome join us and enjoy the beautiful land that remains where there was once a vibrant neighborhood!
