City Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison will kick off the festivities with a welcome message. NOOK will then introduce Freedom Desk\, our music and spoken word performance series that will feature artists from the Austin/Travis County area. \nWe’ll also have a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. DESCRIPTION:Bluebonnet Beer Company is proud to participate in the global #BlackisBeautiful brewing collaboration started by Weathered Souls Brewing Co. in San Antonio. All proceeds from these beers will be donated to organizations in the pursuit of ending racial and social injustice everywhere. The local organization that we have selected is the Austin Justice Coalition \n.\nOur beer was brewed with the help of two people who we love very much\, are very passionate about justice for all\, and do what’s right in and for our community. Our daughter Hailey and her boyfriend Jay. Love you guys! \nA little about the beer: Weathered Souls released a recipe for every brewery to use as a starting point\, but left enough room for breweries to express their creativity and diversity. In true Bluebonnet fashion\, we followed the recipe pretty closely but made a few tweaks to the water chemistry and grain selection to yield a very clean\, smooth\, and highly drinkable beer. It’s a deliciously rich Imperial Stout that weighs in at 10% ABV. Brewed with loads of roasty black malt\, sweet crystal malt\, Magnum bittering hops\, and a large dose of citrusy Cascade hops added late in the boil. Executed in the midst of a global pandemic\, an economic recession\, and the historic Black Lives Matter movement\, the ECEJ initiative was a leap towards a stronger and more equitable local workforce\, in a sector that is nationally over 70% white and male.  \nAs summer internships come to a close\, we’re excited to celebrate the six amazing interns and five clean energy companies who made this pilot program possible!
