This is how we plant for the future—together! \n\n\nEco-Partner Row: Tabling and demonstrations by our other local Eco Partners\, Ex: Austin Batworks on-site with a live Bat Box demolition demonstration and their signature bat-themed gear. \n\n\nHands-on STEM: We’ve got soil-based STEM activities for the kids and native plant info + living soil kits for all ages. \n\n\nCards for Community: Stop by our greeting card station to help create Community Connection. Send a nature-themed note to a loved one\, or write a personalized message for us to deliver to our local nursing homes and elders. \n\n\nDrink Green\, Eat Well: Fast Friends is a champion of sustainable waste practices and a vital part of our compost collective. Every pint you enjoy supports a business that chooses green waste methods and hospitable\, community-first decisions. \nWhether you volunteered with us this week or just want to see what the Mini Meadow Movement is all about\, come grab a beer\, get your hands in some dirt\, and help us close out Climate Week the right way. \nLet’s grow the future. SUMMARY:After The Light Leaves
DESCRIPTION:After the Light Leaves is an improvisational dance performance taking place at sunrise and sunset on Sunday\, March 22 at Festival Beach Food Forest by Dance Waterloo. \nFestival Beach Food Forest is a community-grown edible forest garden on public land—created through over a decade of collaboration to nourish\, educate\, and inspire. Spanning nearly 2.5 acres\, it reconnects people with the land\, their food\, and one another through shared stewardship. This performance unfolds within that living system\, celebrating a space sustained by collective care. \nPerforming at sunrise and sunset\, the dancers explore a familiar rhythm: how life feels different depending on when we arrive. Light shifts\, clocks tick\, and what we notice changes with them. Morning and evening offer distinct ways of being present\, each carrying its own pace and tone. \nRather than presenting a fixed story\, the experience invites audiences to move through the forest together\, noticing how time\, light\, and shared presence shape meaning. What unfolds is not something to complete or consume\, but a moment within an ongoing cycle—one shaped by attention\, continuity\, and return. \nThis is an invitation to gather\, to notice\, and to spend time in a place sustained by collective care. \nSupporting Festival Beach Food Forest\nAt checkout\, audiences may add a donation to the FBFF Mitigation Fund — 100% goes directly toward continued care and stewardship of the space.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a Renaming Ceremony and Historical Marker Unveiling for Don Baylor Neighborhood Park! \nLast year\, my team and I led the city council in adopting an ordinance renaming Westenfield Neighborhood Park after the late Don Baylor\, a Clarksville native who overcame segregation to become a baseball legend. Join us for a ceremonial unveiling of the park’s new historical marker! A reception at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church will follow. \n\nDon Baylor (1949–2017) grew up in Clarksville\, a historic Texas Freedom Community near this park. Despite segregation preventing him from playing in the park as a child\, Baylor broke barriers throughout his life. He was among the first Black students to integrate O. Henry Middle School and later attended Austin High School. Drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 1967\, Baylor became one of the first African American players signed directly out of high school in Texas. His Major League Baseball career spanned 19 seasons\, earning him the American League’s Most Valuable Player award in 1979 and a World Series championship in 1987. Baylor later managed the Colorado Rockies and Chicago Cubs\, earning Manager of the Year honors in 1995. \nBeyond the field\, Baylor was a tireless advocate for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a lifelong member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church. His induction into multiple sports halls of fame and burial at the Texas State Cemetery reflect his enduring impact on Texas and the nation. \nFunding for the interpretive marker came from District 10\, Austin Parks Foundation\, and the Baylor family.
