SUMMARY:Ready\, Set\, Plant! at Montopolis Floodplain Area
DESCRIPTION:Ready\, Set\, Plant! is a volunteer tree-planting program that plants 10\,000 trees each year along Austin’s creeks and rivers. In partnership with the City of Austin and Keep Austin Beautiful\, we educate volunteers on proper tree-planting techniques and riparian restoration. Some benefits of creekside planting include cooler water for aquatic life\, erosion control\, and filtering pollutants from stormwater. Our events are family-friendly and provide an opportunity for community members to connect with Austin’s public lands. \nNo experience or tools are needed. We will train everyone at the beginning of the event\, and provide all tools\, materials\, gloves\, water\, and snacks.
