SUMMARY:Bird Walk with Travis Audubon
DESCRIPTION:Join Rachel Zierzow and TTC Environmental Programs Manager Jonatan Salinas to find birds on the Butler Trail at the Holly Trailhead. Recently planted native trees\, shrubs\, wildflowers\, and natural spring water provide excellent habitats for a variety of bird species. As TTC restores this section of the Butler Trail\, there will be a change in birds\, so you’ll want to come on this monthly walk! \nBird walks are: \n\n1-2 miles long\, completed in around 3 hours\nBeginner-friendly (all levels are welcome)\nOn mostly flat terrain (dissolved gravel trail and sidewalks)\nWe have binoculars to lend to anyone who doesn’t have a pair\n\n  \nRegistration is required and is limited to 10 participants. A reminder email with details will be sent before the bird walk date.

SUMMARY:Nursery and Seed Work at Onion Creek
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning of seed-based restoration at the Onion house on the Water Quality Protection Lands (WQPL). These workdays are part of ongoing restoration efforts to establish diverse and resilient grasslands that improve water quality and quantity in the Barton Springs segment of the Edwards Aquifer. \nTasks vary and\, depending on the workday and season\, may include working with seeds and plants in the plant nursery\, processing collected seed\, or venturing out on the property to harvest or sow seed. We will share details with you before each workday. \nThis workday may involve walking over uneven surfaces and through tall vegetation\, carrying and using tools\, working in exposed full sun areas\, and some bending over. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring drinking water and work gloves\, if you have a pair (we’ll have extras). \nDue to the tasks\, nature of the terrain\, and lack of amenities\, these workdays are generally best suited to older youth and adults. There is no running water on site (unless we are working at the house/nursery)\, and pets and smoking are not permitted.
