DESCRIPTION:Join Bend the Arc: Jewish Action Austin for a conversation with City Council Member Alison Alter about the ongoing campaign in Austin to reimagine public safety. \nLast summer\, like in so many other cities across the country\, Austinites and community groups took to the streets in support of the Movement for Black lives and demanded that the City of Austin act to end racist and violent policing. In response\, the City Council unanimously passed a budget promising to reimagine public safety by redistributing over $20 million from police funding to other public health and safety causes. \nAs Jewish progressives in Austin\, we know we have a role to play in continuing to bring our representatives along with us in the fight for justice. Please join us as we hear from Council Member Alter\, and envision the role our community can play in creating a safer and more just Austin for all. \nOnce you RSVP\, you can expect an email invitation with a zoom link a few days prior to the event.

DESCRIPTION:The ATX Mobility Coalition will be holding a community update session on February 13\, 2021 at 2:00pm–3:30pm. This will be a virtual event that will give the community updates on the Project Connect time-line in regards to: 1) The creation of the CAC – Community Advisory Committee; 2) The creation of the equity assessment tool\, and; 3) Community engagement opportunities.
