SUMMARY:Ready\, Set\, Plant! at Southeast Shores
DESCRIPTION:Ready\, Set\, Plant! is a volunteer tree-planting program that plants 10\,000 trees each year along Austin’s creeks and rivers. We educate volunteers on proper tree planting techniques and riparian restoration in partnership with the City of Austin’s Watershed Protection Department\, Keep Austin Beautiful\, and The Trail Conservancy. Some of the benefits of creekside planting include cooler water for aquatic life\, erosion control\, and filtering of pollutants from storm water. Our events are family friendly and provide an opportunity for community members to connect with Austin’s public lands. \nNo experience or tools are needed. We will train everyone at the beginning of the event\, and provide all tools\, materials\, gloves\, water\, and snacks. \nRSVP here.
