SUMMARY:SFC School Garden Leadership Training
DESCRIPTION:From the Sustainable Food Center –\nHelp foster a brighter\, healthier future for children in Central Texas through school gardens. This 2-part training is for teachers\, parents\, and community members interested in starting (or reviving) and sustaining a school garden. \nWe will discuss the key components to a successful garden\, including creating a plan\, organizing and building your garden team\, site selection and basic design\, managing the garden\, and finding funds and resources to sustain the garden. We will cover only basic gardening principles but will point you to a variety of resources for more in-depth gardening information (including our gardening classes). Participants will receive a Resource Guide with materials referenced in training. The training provides an opportunity to meet other school gardeners and find out about community resources and events. \nRSVP here.
