08 Jul CapMetro Fare Restructuring and Open Houses
In order to ensure that Capital Metro’s fares are efficient, and keep pace with inflation and the rising cost of providing transit service, we recently conducted a study to evaluate our fare structure. The study’s recommendations include a phased approach over the next two years that would restructure Capital Metro’s contract deals with large employers and retail outlets that sell passes, eliminate the complicated zoned-fare structure for MetroRail, increase pass prices, and eventually the base fare. Capital Metro is evaluating these recommendations for a new fare structure that could be phased in over the next two years, allowing the community time to prepare for changes.
How could the recommended changes impact you? For a preview of the changes visit http://www.capmetro.org/
Before developing a proposal for changing our fare structure, we want to hear from you.
Please attend one of our Public Meetings to provide comments and feedback on the fare structure recommendations.
