Boutique & Design Studio Grand Opening – René Geneva Design & Linda Asaf Design

This is the time of the boutique in Austin.  Seems everywhere you turn another one opens, and each one is making Austin a ‘funner’ place to shop.

Enter René Geneva, namesake of René Geneva Design, an eco-chic designer (and you guessed it – now eco-boutique) whose work has graced the runways of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the halls of the Volksgarten in Austria, and more.

Geneva’s corsets and bridal gowns have been featured alongside the likes of Vera Wang on the WE Network, and her dresses and women’s separates on TreeHugger.com, in Women’s Wear Daily, and more. René Geneva’s name went national with a private label that landed the floors of Whole Foods Market® stores, and she is known internationally for her consistent support of fair trade efforts and solar initiatives.

So what does Linda Asaf have to do with this?  Austin darling and long-time favorite designer Asaf has opened her space to Geneva to create a dynamic duo of coup d’état, d’-great place to shop retail, or design your dream dress.  Some of the designs are even made in-house in their tiny factory in back, putting Austin’s best seamstresses to work. The little boutique on West 6th stays true to it’s 1930’s-built structure and offers a vintage styling complete with and Austin-modern twist.

The same can be said about Geneva’s Spring 2011 line.  Debuted on the runway this past October for the US Embassy in Vienna, René was inspired by the allure of the city itself, and kissed with her love of dance.  Think Madmen-meets-Tango.  Her color scheme may be compared to a peacock sitting in a garden, spied in an antique photo and fabrics include layers of delicate silk mixed with woven hemps, adorned with odd prints from an era not far from that of Sherlock Holmes.

The grand opening event is not to be missed as there will be French-twist eats by Marshall Fabella, Fashionable cocktails, tunes from our favorite DJ Manny, and runway-esque models entertaining the evening with styling by Sandra Antoun.  A private viewing and sample sale will be available upon request through out the event.

It would be an honor if you would join us Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 6-9pm at René Geneva Design’s boutique located at 1405 West 6th Street, Austin.
